CRM12 Concrete Repair Mortar

DESCRIPTION

CRM 12 is a ready-to-use high strength patch and repair mortar suitable for core fills or screed on concrete surfaces to adjust levels to 12mm. It is polymer modified to limit shrinkage and to maintain hardened state durability after application. CRM 12 can be finished with a steel float to achieve a smooth hardened surface and can be sprayed over in 3 – 4 hours after application.

RECOMMENDED USES

CRM 12 is recommended for concrete surface level adjustment up to a maximum of 12mm thick or can be used as a grout to fill minor potholes or drilled cores in concrete slabs.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of any loose material or contaminants that are likely to affect adhesion.
  2. Prime the surface with 1 – part CRS 3000 Modifier liquid and 2 – parts clean water. Allow primer coat to dry before applying CRM 12 mix.
  3. Mix material in a 20-litre pail using a paddle mixer attachment to a suitable electric power drill. DO NOT HAND MIX. Each 20kg bag of CRM 12 will require 1 litre of CRS 3000 Modifier mixed with 1 litre minimum – maximum 3 litres of clean water depending on application to achieve a workable plastic state consistency for a concrete surface level screed or patching mortar or more viscose core fill grout. Place Modifier/water mix in the pail first at the ratio of 1:2 then blend with paddle mixer. Add CRM 12 powder while continuing to blend with the paddle mixer. After adding the entire CRM12 powder to the mix – blend contents together for a minimum period of 2 minutes. Add water to the mix in increments of 50ml (max 1 litre) until the required workable plastic state consistency is achieved subject to application. Mixed product must be placed within a maximum time of 30 minutes.

Important Note: Where CRM 12 is used in high traffic areas to adjust surface levels or grout repair concrete slabs and will not be resurfaced – mix material at 1:1 Modifier/Water ratio for high strength and abrasion resistance.
  4. Trowel or screed CRM 12 over the affected area and initial finish with a steel float so as to achieve a smooth closed surface.
  5. If the concrete slab is to be resurfaced with a spray-on or trowelled coating then broom the CRM 12 surface to produce a texture finish after it has hardened sufficiently to do so.
  6. Cure the hardened finished CRM 12 after completion of the work with a primer coat comprising of 1 – part CRS 3000 Modifier liquid and 2 – parts clean water. Apply by roller or spray-on method.
  7. Read Materials Safety Data Advice (MSDS) and instructions printed on product bags or pails for proper and workmanlike use and method of application in accordance with the manufacturers’ recommendations.

PERFORMANCE DATA

  • Compressive Strength: ≥35MPa after 28 days depending upon Modifier/Water ratio.
  • Pull-Off Adhesion: >1MPa (1:1 Modifier/Water Ratio)
Exceeds minima 0.75 MPa for bonded finishes.
  • Setting Time at 20°C 3 Hours (appox).
  • Estimating Data: 20kg covers 1m2 at 10mm thickness.
